Prof. Brij B. Gupta is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering (CSIE) and serves as the Director of the International Center for AI and Cyber Security Research and Innovations (CCRI) at Asia University, Taiwan. With over two decades of professional academic and research experience, he has established himself as a leading global authority in artificial intelligence, cloud-edge computing, and next-generation cybersecurity paradigms. He obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, India, specializing in defense mechanisms against Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. His extensive global academic footprint includes holding adjunct and honorary professorships at the University of Ottawa in Canada, Macquarie University in Australia, the University of Economics and Human Sciences in Warsaw, Poland, and Birkbeck, University of London. Beyond academia, he has bridged significant links with the industry, notably serving as a Distinguished Research Scientist at LoginRadius Inc., USA, specializing in Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM).
An exceptionally prolific researcher, Prof. Gupta has published over 600 high-impact scientific articles in leading international journals and peer-reviewed conference proceedings. He has authored or edited 35 technical reference books with premier global publishers such as CRC Press, Elsevier, Springer, and the IET, and holds 12 patents. His research, which spans cyber-physical systems, Internet of Things (IoT) security, blockchain technologies, deepfake analysis, and metaverse security, has accumulated over 40,000 global citations. Recognizing this profound scholarly contribution, Clarivate Web of Science has repeatedly named him a Highly Cited Researcher, placing him in the top 0.1% of computer scientists worldwide. In addition to his research, Prof. Gupta provides substantial leadership to the international scientific community as the Editor-in-Chief of several prominent journals, including the International Journal on Semantic Web and Information Systems (IJSWIS) and the International Journal of Software Science and Computational Intelligence (IJSSCI). He is a Senior Member of both the IEEE and ACM, and has held notable leadership roles within the IEEE Consumer Technology Society (CTSoc), including serving as a Member-at-Large on its Board of Governors from 2022 to 2024 and being selected as an IEEE CTSoc Distinguished Lecturer.
